yet many take comfort in knowing exactly what comes next.
Even when that “knowing” is the familiar pain of control,
of self-inflicted cycles—of choosing to hold the breath
rather than daring to truly breathe.
There is a paradox here:
To abstain from change, even peace,
for the illusion of stability is still a form of self-denial.
The Illusion of Control
Gasping for air is a relief only after drowning.
But to gasp while fully breathing?
That is discomfort. That is disruption. That is awakening.
